Showreel and Shorts can be very different. Here's a random showreel/'visual resume' that almost made the 90sec mark. I'm inspired to do one of these 'resumes' again. ~Īnimation shorts of those lengths aren't too teribly bad, and it gave the author the 90sec to 120 second 'resume' needed in that field(1min44sec, right? - we had to do those resumes for school too because it's expected in the field). They would then follow that with other things. that would be the first thing my teachers would say. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you shouldn't use a tool dedicated for animation.

and i think this might just change my mind and go for Clip Studio paint Pro. The time it takes for you to look through a template and pick the one you want, you would've done it from scratch already. But if I was as on the fence as you sound and didn't have any ties to any program, I'd just get krita on a sale and with lifetime updates on a sale and set the download in the properties to version 3.0. especially since 3.0 came out recently, and it has the lifetime upgrades dlc which gets discounted on sales.Īnd on and on, I guess. Krita is generally good at most everything, it has comic panel presets too. PaintTool Sai is great for character focus. For multi-page-and-multi-panel comics, there is no comparison to OpenCanvas, Clip Studio Pro/EX is just better. It's great for general illustration.Ĭlip Studio, once known as MS5, is great for inking and painting. I also really like how ridiculously fast you can plan out a room in 3d using the 3d tool and basic geometric shapes and the stairs shape in MangaLabo. Yet, the feel of drawing in Mudbox is even better(why does a 3d sculpt program have such a great feel for drawing?). I really like the 'feel' of the drawing in MangaLabo. Whichever you use better is the best one. I'm super interested and i'm just trying to see what's best to spend on despite me already owning Open Canvas 6 and using it overtime for an hour or so. Let me know your opinion or what you think of each of the softwares.

Which is useful and 100% better in regards.īut i just can't pick between them over their own features, i have yet to learn much about both of the softwares but i have messed around in their tools and such and so far did a great job with the figure tool in Clip Studio Paint EX. I'm aware that CSPaint EX has animation tools.

Now my question here to all Artists who has used CLIP STUDIO PAINT EX & OC6 or has experienced any of which said above. its more of an actual line and they have some sort of differences into their tool in that software, I have no downsides to Open Canvas 6 at all in fact i love this software!īut the only thing i don't honestly like is the 'figure' tool, its too plain compared to Clip Studio's version of the 'Figure' tool, i like to mess around with the figure tool and trace over artworks of others or just my own, the only thing i'm not a fan of is how the lines are when you're using the figure tool in OC6 its more of a dot, compared to Clip studio paint EX.
